How to Choose a Shower System

Overhead, rail or twin shower

A fixed overhead shower gives the cleanest look and a broad spray. A hand shower on a rail lets you adjust the height and makes rinsing children, cleaning the shower and washing hair easier. Twin showers combine an overhead with a hand shower, giving you both without choosing one or the other.

Round or square

Round shower heads and rails soften the room and pair naturally with curved mixers and accessories. Square designs create a sharper architectural look. Match the shape to the rest of the tapware so the shower feels like part of the same bathroom rather than a separate purchase.

Choose one finish across the room

The current shower range includes chrome, brushed nickel, brushed gold, gun metal, matte black, brushed bronze, graphite and other finishes. Carrying the same finish through the shower, basin mixer, bath spout and accessories gives the bathroom a more consistent result.

Plan the rough-in early

The position of the shower outlet, mixer and any diverter needs to be decided before waterproofing and tiling. If you are changing from a simple rail to a twin shower or separate overhead and hand shower, confirm the plumbing layout with your licensed plumber before the walls close.

What is the difference between a twin shower and a rail shower?
A rail shower uses an adjustable hand shower that slides up and down a rail. A twin shower combines a fixed overhead shower with a separate hand shower, so you can switch between the two.
Should I choose a round or square shower head?
Choose the shape that matches your tapware and bathroom lines. Round showers suit softer curved fittings, while square heads create a more angular, architectural look. Performance depends more on the shower design and water pressure than the shape.
Which shower finish is easiest to maintain?
